População Infantil no Japão

População infantil no Japão tem 27º recorde de baixa

O Japão, que em todos os dias 5 de maio celebra o Dia da Criança, tem cada vez menos filhos para comemorar do que em qualquer outro momento do último século.
Um relatório divulgado pelo Ministério de Comunicações e Assuntos Internos divulgado hoje mostra que o país tinha 17,25 milhões de crianças com 14 anos de idade ou menos em abril, um recorde de baixa pelo 27º ano consecutivo. A última vez que o Japão registrou número tão baixo de crianças foi em 1908, mas atualmente a proporção de crianças diante da população geral é de apenas 13,5%, menor número já registrado no país.
O Japão possui agora a menor porcentagem de crianças entre 31 países desenvolvidos analisados, diz o relatório. O declínio da taxa de natalidade e o aumento da perspectiva de vida fazem com que o Japão enfrente um deslocamento demográfico sem precedentes cujas conseqüências mais perceptíveis no futuro deverão ser a deterioração dos serviços públicos e a escassez de mão-de-obra.
O ministério prevê que em 12 anos a parcela infantil da população cairá para 10,8%. Ao mesmo tempo, a proporção de pessoas com mais de 65 anos deve subir para 29,2% da população. Para 2040, se nada mudar, a previsão do governo é de que as crianças representem 9,3% da população e as pessoas com mais de 65 anos, 36,5%.

The Last Rose of Summer is a poem by Irish poet Thomas Moore,

who was a friend of Byron and Shelley.

Moore wrote it in 1805 while at Jenkinstown Park in County Kilkenny, Ireland.

Sir John Stevenson set the poem to its beautiful melody and it was published in a collection of Moore's work called Irish Melodies (1807-34).

It was made popular in the twenty first century in a recording by Charlotte Church and the Irish Tenors.

This melody was used extensively throughout Friedrich von Flotow's opera "Martha," first performed in 1847 in Vienna.

According to the Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians (1954),

this opera was a remodelling from a ballet written in conjunction with Burgmuller and Deldevez and produced in Paris in 1844 as "Lady Henriette."

It stands to reason, based on the evidence,

that Flotow made liberal use of Stevenson's melody.It is sung in the Musical group Celtic Woman by Méav Ní Mhaolchatha and Hayley Westenra
